COVID-19 School Closure
Governor DeWine’s unprecedented move to extend spring break for students for three weeks starting at the end of the school day on March 16, 2020, has caused our District to make some difficult, yet necessary decisions. Effective at 3:00 p.m. on March 16, the following will occur.

The students will be on a three week spring break starting March 17 through April 3, 2020. During this time, students need to complete all three Blizzard Bag assignments.
All school functions, field trips, and any other extracurricular activities are canceled. We are actively working to reschedule or secure refunds for these events, including the Musical, Senior Trip, and the Washington, DC trip, if possible.
All athletic practices, open gyms, and use of the weight room are suspended.

Please refer to the District’s website,, for updates. We will keep families informed of any new information we receive. We appreciate your cooperation as we navigate through these difficult times.

  • birth certificate
  • social security card
  • immunization (shot records)
  • parent identification (driver’s license)
  • custody and court placement papers (if applicable)

Due to the high volume of appointments, please allow upwards of 10 to 15 minutes for your appointment.  At the termination of your scheduled appointment, you will be assigned another appointment for Kindergarten Screening. Kindergarten screening will take place in late May.

Student Cardiovascular Testing

Dear Parent/Guardian,

Barnesville High School is taking an extra step to protect your child by providing cardiovascular testing for students aged 12-25 on school grounds.

Sudden Cardiac Arrest is caused by an abnormality in the heart's electrical system or structure that abruptly stops the heartbeat. It is the leading cause of death on school campuses. According to the American Heart Association, every 3 days a young athlete dies from Sudden Cardiac Arrest in the US. In 80% of the cases, there are no warning signs or symptoms leading up to a cardiac arrest.

CAPPO Health will perform EKGs and echocardiograms to detect heart conditions that can put your child at risk and vascular ultrasounds to identify vascular conditions common to athletes (such as blood clots). All tests are non-invasive, and the privacy of your child is maintained.

To learn more and register for the testing, please visit:

Once have chosen your appointment time, please visit: and click on "HS Registration" at the top of the page to complete your registration paperwork.

There are no upfront costs for this testing. CAPPO Health will bill your health insurance, accepting what your carrier deems usual and customary. As required by law, CAPPO will bill for any deductible or co-insurance owed, if applicable. There are a number of circumstances that would waive any balance due for this testing (including saving for college). Please be aware that if you have an HSA, FSA, or HRA account, funds may automatically be deducted if a balance is due. We encourage you to call us at (833) 244-5700 to verify your benefits or to answer any questions you have about the billing process.

Together with Barnesville High School, we look forward to contributing to the health and safety of your athlete! Please do not hesitate to contact Jamie Chahalis with any questions. (561-931-3525 –

Thermometer ordering for the Kinsa program is now open. This program is free for everyone with children attending BES or BMS. Instructions are included in the photos attached. If you have already downloaded the app, remember to click on the little gear symbol at the top right corner of the app and then select "Join my school group". There, you will search for and select either Barnesville Middle School or Barnesville Elementary School. Joining the school group is what triggers the ordering of your thermometer, so please be sure that you've taken this final step. The ordering window closes on October 15, so orders can't be accepted after that date.
