Belmont County school districts have received new protocols from the Belmont County Health Department for responding to students who have symptoms of illness. Attached is our district's new flow chart for parents to follow at home and that nurses will follow at school when students have symptoms. The protocols are subject to change, should a rise in the number of positive cases occur in our students or staff. As of 10/2/20, 40 students in our district have been tested, and all of the tests have been negative.
If your child or someone in your household tests positive for COVID-19, please keep your child home and notify school nursing staff right away. This will allow us to begin procedures to keep our schools healthy and safe. Additionally, if someone in your household is experiencing symptoms and is tested for COVID-19, please contact the school nursing staff before sending your student(s) to school. Beth Seneff (nurse for BMS and BHS) can be reached at extension 4133. Christie Jones (nurse for BES) can be reached at extension 3019. If your child is currently at home under the old protocol but meets criteria to return to school under the new protocol, they may return. If you are unsure if they meet criteria to return under the new protocol, please contact your child's building nurse.
